Town Hall Meeting # 2 October 23, 2008
(Notes taken by Nancy Slade)

Fr. Bill welcomed everyone and opened with a prayer. He introduced:

- Tom Doyle, Parish Manager
- Doug Tam, Development & Stewardship Director
- Parish Council Members
- Tim Donahue, Building Committee Chairman
- Building Committee Members
- Rick, architect from the diocese
- Chris, construction rep and friend of Fr. Bill
- Rick Swisher, architect (and his assistant Steve)

Rick Swisher - Gathering information is important to the whole process; we want to hear from everyone. He presented the following slides:

- Our Mission Statement
- Peace Truth Listen
- Old site plan (34-40 acres)
- Original master plan approved August 8, 2000

Almost a decade later things have changed. Our parish has grown, with new requirements. The 1300 seat church originally planned for in not sufficient to meet our needs now. We are looking at a 2,000 seat church.

- Master Plan Phasing
Phase 0 -Completed

Phase I -Church seats 2,000
- Parish Center with Cafeteria for 200 +
-Meeting room with reception for 500
-Maintenance and Infrastructure (storage)

Phase II - Family Life Center with Gym
- Offices

Phase III - Ministries of Mercy Center
- Improve sports fields

Phase IV - Early Childhood Center

Phase V - Middle School
- Rectory

Phase VI - ‘Higgins’ Hall
- Assisted living facility
- Sample revised site plan by Rick Swisher (also handed out at sign-in)
- Photos of current site

We divided up into groups, with an enlarged copy of the current site, cutouts of proposed building, and markers, and were asked to take some time arranging the buildings on the site, keeping in mind we need 600 parking spaces for the church, and 100-150 more for the balance of the property (in addition to what us now there). A spokesperson from each group presented their result.

Rick Swisher – Master plan will be modified, taking into consideration all of these plans, then will be discussed among the building committee before going forth to the county. At the next Town Hall Meeting on November 6 th, we will see photos of several churches (some that Rich designed) and we’ll discuss interior and exterior styles. If anyone has any photos of churches, they can send them to Rick, or the church office.

Fr. Bill thanked everyone for coming and closed with a prayer.
